Munich’s CHRISTIAN PROMMER has made himself a name as DJ and music producer in nineties, whilst working as a member of FAUNA FLASH that he formed with his friend and now labelmate ROLAND APPEL, as part of the famous TRÜBY TRIO with RAINER TRÜBY and ROLAND APPEL, and as VOOM:VOOM alongside PETER KRUDER. In more than 10 years he released many full length albums and a multitude of 12“s and remixes on very famous labels such as Compost Records, G Stone Recordings and !K7.

In 2007 CHRISTIAN amazed both communities of Jazz lovers and Electronic Music fanatics with his exciting and cutting-edge new project CHRISTIAN PROMMER’S Drumlesson. He rounded up a fantastic troupe of musicians, such as ROBERTO DI GIOIA, WOLFGANG HAFFNER and ERNST STRÖER amongst others, and he recorded ten of his favourite dance classics as jazz interpretations. The first opus simply named CHRISTIAN PROMMER’S Drumlesson Vol.1 (SK162CD) has been praised as the missing link between Jazz and Electronic Music with beautiful Jazz renditions of monuments of Techno and House music such as DERRICK MAY’s Strings of Life, KRAFTWERK’s Trans Europa Express, ÂME’s Rej, Mr. FINGER’s Can you feel it, JAYDEE’s Plastic Dreams and NUYORICAN SOUL’s Nervous Track amongst many others.

But this was just the beginning for the reckless producer from Munich! Not afraid of taking on legendary artists, CHRISTIAN PROMMER dares this time to turn DAFT PUNK’s electronic monster-hit Around The World into a freaked-out piece of Jazz.
After a slow and melancolic piano intro, the track kicks off really fast with ROBERTO DI GIOIA flying over the keyboard like a virtuoso and ERNST STRÖER and WOLFGANG HAFFNER giving it all on the drums and percussions. Thanks to the dexterity of the 2 drumheroes and the creativity of DI GIOIA on the keyboard, the original tune of the 2 french producers has been completely transcended and it’s beyond the shadow of a doubt that this new version will please every Jazz lovers looking for fresh sensations.

On the flipside CHRISTIAN PROMMER puts his jazzy style aside for a moment and comes back to his roots with a pumping deep-house number called Matched Grip. On a loud filtered beat and a dark electro bass line CHRISTIAN lets the House take control of your body and your mind. Matched Grip is a breezy delight of 8 minutes that is tailored for the biggest dancefloors and that will bliss out every House lovers for sure.
